Board-Certified Physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner in Baton Rouge
Follow Dr. Freeman
Dr. Kate Freeman, MD
Dr. Kate Freeman has spent more than 16 years caring for patients across every stage of life, health and illness, in a wide range of settings. She has cared for women from young adulthood through menopause and beyond, and that depth of experience is what allows her to see the long arc of women’s health: how hormones, metabolism, mood, sleep, cardiovascular risk and longevity intersect over time.
Women’s health has historically been under-researched and under-prioritized. Many women are told their symptoms are normal, stress-related, or simply something to endure. Dr. Freeman believes women deserve evidence-based answers, advanced screening, and personalized strategies that prevent problems rather than manage them once they appear.
She is a firm believer in shared decision-making, and she respects each woman’s autonomy and personal preferences in her own care.
Menopause and Perimenopause Care
As a Certified Practitioner with The Menopause Society, Dr. Freeman has completed formal training and examination in the care of women through perimenopause and menopause. Menopause receives very little dedicated time in standard medical training, which is why so many women are told their symptoms are simply part of getting older.

Common Questions
-
Yes! Feel free to schedule a Welcome Visit at your convenience.
-
The Menopause Society Certified Practitioner credential, or MSCP, is awarded to clinicians who complete formal training and pass an examination in menopause care. It is a specific competency, separate from a physician’s primary board certification, and relatively few clinicians hold it.
-
Yes.
Femme Health bills insurance for covered services throughout the year, including sick visits, follow-up appointments, laboratory testing, imaging, and preventive screenings when applicable.
The membership structure allows Dr. Freeman to care for a smaller number of patients, which makes longer appointments and more comprehensive evaluations possible. Insurance continues to cover medically necessary services as it normally would.
